Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 04/18/2001

Number: 1

Still waiting for the Monarchs to arrive. I have been out in the local fields and woods looking for Monarchs daily (weather permitting) since mid March. Spring is just not the same without them. Hopefully, there will be sightings soon. The local forecast calls for warmer conditions with increasing southwest winds tomorrow. Milkweed emerged later this year, however is more abundant than in recent years due to adequate rainfall. Monarch sightings in NE MS usually rapidly drop off in early May. Will continue to wait for their return.
