On April 18th at around 9a.m. students from TMI monitored 14 A. curassavica plants and found no eggs or larvae on 13 plants and six 4th instar larvae on one plant. No adult monarchs were observed.
On April 19th at 8:10a.m. under overcast skies and at temperatures of 61F, students monitored 24 native A. asperula. The average no. of stems was 2.25, the avg. height was 19.5cm. 16.7% of the plants had buds, 0% had flowers or seed pods. None of the plants had any invertebrates including monarch eggs or larvae, and all were in good condition w/ ratings of 1, and none had herbivory or disease and were assigned ratings of 1.
