The pace is picking up. On my walk today I heard my first WHITE-THROATED SPARROW of the season. Also heard the first WOOD FROGS, which usually start singing a day or so before the spring peepers in my neighborhood. When I was almost back to my house, I heard and then saw my first WARBLER, a YELLOW-RUMP, singing from a small tree. I got a good look at it because it was only a few feet above eye level. There's still snow on the ground, but it's melting faster now. The birds seem to be trying to stay on schedule.
