We have a sighting of a Monarch on Sunday, 4/22/01. this was reported to us today, by a degreed naturalist who works with us. Mary Piotrowski saw
the butterfly on a lilac bush near Chaptico, MD. (38.36 N -76.78W) She has not seen any milkweeds.
Students spent an hour bird and Monarch watching this morning. The parent volunteer with them, a former Eagle Scout, said he could not say emphatically that any of the butterflies were Monarchs.
