We have had unseasonably cool temperatures for the beginning of April, but finally, last Sunday's temperatures were in the 80's and by Tuesday our tulips have popped open. These are the latest emerging and blooming dates in the five years that we have planted. However, our average number of days between emerging and blooming is 38 and that's exactly how many days it took this year. I don't think our tulips were "late" this year. I think the other years were especially "early", because of the warmer winters the past 3 years.
