About ten feet in front of our front window, about twelve feet up in a tall Spruce tree, a female robin has been frantically working to construct her nest. I was amazed at how she 'sized' it. I have watched the laborious job and I believe I definitely know the answer to the question about who does more work....I also watched her take a break and have an earthworm for her mid-morning snack. I am curious as to whether they eat the worms live. She appeared to toss it around before consuming it, whole! I am still trying to figure out who the expectant father is......Do you think he is related to the tenth generation of starlings who insist on inhabiting my mailbox? I remove it and by the same time next day, the nest is back--just in time for the mail!
