The children first noticed the tulip leaves immerging the first day of spring, March 20th in the part of the school yard that had both an east and south exposure. The tulips that were only on the east side of the building took a few days longer. The tulips on the north side even longer to immerge. Spring came and along with spring we got a snow storm. The tulips did nothing more for awhile. It wasn't until after Easter, that a few tulips that were on the south side, and not covered with snow started really taking off. Our tulips started blooming the 3rd week in April, and now the first day of May, most, but not all are in full bloom.
