I was cleaning out my screen porch this past week. I hung my hummingbird feeder outside on the hook above my deck just to get it out of my way. Saturday evening I was sitting in my screen porch enjoying the loons, when a hummingbird came to my empty feeder. Needless to say, I rushed into the house to make nectar and filled my two feeders. I haven't seen another hummingbird since then. My husband and I both saw the hummingbird and were very surprised. We really didn't expect to see them quite yet. There are so few flowers blooming. We expected that they must be living off insects.
