Great news!!! The sugar maple tree in our maple sugar bush known as "Bobo" has leafed out!!! Yes, Bobo has leaves that fit very nicely on top of a Canadian quarter! We hope that Bobo and the other trees in our forest have a great growing year so that they will be ready to give us more good sap in 2002! We also note that with the leaves arrival has come the arrival of one of our not-so-welcome visitors- tent caterpillars. We have seen tents on the cherry trees and the chokecherry bushes, and we hope that the caterpillars don't want to snack on our maple leaves.
