Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/05/2001

Number: 1

We saw our first Monarch in the late afternoon of May 5, 2001! It was floating around our common ground, but was quickly driven away by several of the 50 or so Red Admirals that were also in the area. The Red Admirals (Vanessa annabella) seem to be migrating as we have seen many these past several days.
