I am a master gardener volunteer in the butterfly garden at the Virginia Tech Research Station in Norfolk, VA. The common milkweed is now up about a foot. I was at the garden all morning on May 10 and observed no monarch butterfly activity. I checked the milkweed and there were no eggs.
