We have been studying Monarch Butterflies. We "raised"
>3 Monarch caterpillars on milkweed. We saw them change into
>their pupa stage. We saw the beautiful green chrysalis with
>the the gold beads. We saw the chrysalis turn black right
>before the Monarch butterfly came out, but when he came out,
>we saw that the chrysalis was clear. We watched him dry
>his wings. We released the 3 adult butterflies (two males
>and one female) last week on May 13,14,and 15, 2001.
