Yesterday, May 24 was my first observation of a monarch for 2001. A single low, fast-flying individual in very good shape was seen at Lake Fairfax County Park, Reston, VA. at about 12:30PM. At home, 40 miles west, my Asclepias syriaca, A. incarnata, A. tuberosa and A. curassavica have not yet been visited by females.
