We have created a butterfly/bird garden at our school last spring. It is 2500sq. ft. and has a variety of plants that provide habitat for butterflies and birds. We also raise and release painted lady butterflies each spring. There is a bird feeding station as part of the garden with a bluebird house. I run our school Ecolcogy Club.
we do many projects with my group and with the whole school. I would like our students to get involved in the monarch butterfly migration program. We have tundra swans that migate through Merrill area each spring and I would like to teach the students about migration of different species. I am looking to do a whole school project with this next year.
