There it was! Finalmente, I had been waiting for some time, wondering when a visitor from Mexico would make it's appearance. I had become so familiar with the Monarch's overwintering site, that now when I encounter one dancing about the Midwest, I understand this butterfly's life story.
The Monarch I observed was traversing across the field of an Amish farm. I had been camping with close friends from Mexico, Guatemala and Colombia. What a coincidence. I found myself stalled for longest time, just grasping the reality behind why that Monarch had made it this far.
