Submitted by Dr. Lincoln Brower for colleague in Conway, Arkansas, as evidence of poor migration this spring:
I saw only two monarchs migrating north through Conway this year. No eggs were laid on my milkweeds next to the greenhouse or on Cynanchum growing as a weed in the flower beds. I read that 22 million monarchs died from cold last winter. What a
disaster. Apparently the losses affected the annual migration through central Arkansas.
