I am a master gardener volunteer at the Virginia Tech Research Station in Norfolk, Virginia where I work in the butterfly garden. I checked the milkweed today and found no evidence of eggs or caterpillers. While I was in the garden this morning I did see other butterflies around, but no monarch butterflies. I also have milkweed in my home garden in Virginia Beach (2 miles from the shore line) and have seen no butterflies, eggs or caterpillers.
