Over the last month or so I have noticed there is consistantly a pair of robins in the front and back yard. My son has found two robin eggs (at different times about a month ago) in the side yard on the ground, one was broken and one was not (but in his excitement he dropped it .....)
Four days ago I noticed the robins starting to build a nest in the post holding up our front veranda. There are 3 posts and after some confusion they seems to settle on which post they were going to build. (there is a start to the nest in three different places). I would say that yesterday they finished building the nest (using the usual assortment of grasses and some old twine that was part of our electric fence!)
Today I haven't seen either Robin at the nest. I presume it is ready and that the female is now "waiting for the urge to lay an egg".
We are looking forward to hopefully watching the raising of baby birds. The nest is right outside the front of our livingroom picture window and
