We continue to have four to six Monarch males all day. Two males that we first netted in the backyard on May 5th, tagged with Monarch Watch tags, and wing marked with a "5" were netted again today, thirty-three days later ... very faded, becoming transparent. http://jun2k1.homestead.com/jun6.html A male marked with "7" (May 7) and another marked with "9" (May 18) plus two untagged males were around all today. Netted one of the untagged males about six in the afternoon (55 mm front wings, 37 mm rear wings), tagged, and wing marked with "72". Found second instar Monarch larvae yesterday. Have seen Queen butterflies (Danaus gilippus) this week so yesterday's new eggs could be either Monarch or Queen.
