Coincidentally, on leps list today Xi Wang also reported sighting monarchs in the Winnepeg area:


Hi y'all


Just saw 2 monarchs nectaring on a lilac bush outside my house. They
were both in pretty good condition, and probably eclosed within the
week. I'll probably go out later to see if I can find any ova.
