Went to the "duck shack" today, our cabin at Swan Lake in Nicollet County,
MN. We saw dozens and dozens of monarchs!!! What struck me was their SIZE
and color. They seemed huge, not to be confused with admirals or any others.
Also, their colors were DARK and rich! Amazngly, I found NO milkweed of any
species, no eggs even on suspected family-esque plants. The butterflies were
primarily nectaring, low flying, and I did see a couple playing a mating
game...
