Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/11/2001

Number: 1

Of the 20 eggs we had in the classroom 18 have hatched and the larva (10) are now in chrysalids and 6 are in the "J" stage, with 2 still eating away. All larva and chrysalids are looking very healthy. However in feeding the larva we came up with several more eggs on the feeder milkweed so we still have one egg and (6) 1-2 day-old larva eating voraciously. Adults in two weeks. It should be noted that I found many eggs on the feeder leaves that I left intact.
