Short early evening visit to Va Tech Research station shows still no Monarchs, no larvae, no eggs and no evidence of milkweed being eaten by little ones. Wanted to stop by and look over the milkweed patches before the big rain storm hits. Remnants of tropical storm Allison are suppose to be in our Hampton Roads area over the next three days. Hope our scant Monarch visitors weather the storm ok. Same (4) No's as above apply to a large wild open field common milkweed patch at approx 36.835N/-76.045W.
