My wife and I saw our first Monarch Butterfly today (7 July). She was nectaring from Lantana, Butterfly Bush, and Milkweed. She was laying eggs on the milkweed. Collected 15 eggs on leaves to raise in a protected environment until ready for release. This is much later than last year's first sighting; possibly due to cooler and wetter spring. Will update this periodically.
