Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 07/24/2001

Number: 1

My husband and I have seen very few monarchs this summer. In the last week, however, we have had three on our butterfly bush. They have laid many eggs on our milkweed, and we have brought in around 40 to rear in a protected environment. This is our first year for doing this. Is this the generation that will migrate to Mexico? Also, does anyone out there know how to keep butterflies through the winter? spstark@hsonline.net
