Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 08/17/2001

Number: 1

We were traveling through the State Park in St. Ignace on Aug. 17,01 in the evening and saw hundreds of Manarchs fluttering around the trees, landing and gathering in the branches for the night. We went back the next morning to see if they were still there and they were. They just seemed to be gathering there, We never saw them flying anywhere, just amongst the trees. I took some pictures and videos of them. It was a beautiful sight. I had read an article in our paper just before we left about them so I was thrilled to actually see some.
