Hundreds of Night Hawks were migrating overhead at 7pm last evening, which we viewed while eating dinner outside in downtown Minneapolis. The day before we watched flying ants emerge in the thousands, all simultaneously, from places all over our yard. The winged ants flew upward until out of sight, a very labored flight. I looked for predators that might find an easy meal. In seeing the Night Hawks, I wondered if *by chance* their migration takes advantage of this food source--but probably just a coincidence...
