There was a monarch nectaring on a butterfly bush by the window today around noon. It was female with slightly faded wings. Sightngs have averaged about 2 per day since August 11th. This is a definite improvement from August 2000 when no monarchs were observed. I would guess it is too early for monarchs to be migrating in my location. Nectar sources are more abundant this year. August temps have been below normal and precip above normal with quite a bit of cloud cover.
Happy Monarch Watching!!!!
