Our Monarch catapillar population has exploded. They have stripped the milkweed, in the garden, down to stalks. In advertently cannibalising larvae. We have imported milkweed and exported catipillars to local milkweed patches as well. The students arrive Wednesday 9/5/01 and two orders of Monarchs are set to arrive 9/10/01. Last year we had high Crysalis mortality rate due to Tachynid Flies with about a 15% survival rate. Hopefully this years population will make up for last year.
