Hummingbird Migration Update: April 1, 2003 (Data Only) Another Rufous Hummingbird in Alaska! Mike Patterson reports that there was a second Rufous Hummingbird reported in Ketchikan, Alaska this week. There was also a report from Zigzag, Oregon, in the Cascades. Mike says, "The warm weather of recent days should signal the all clear for the eastward push."
If YOU see a Rufous Hummingbird in the West, make sure you report it to Mike Patterson. And if you see hummers, make sure you let him know if any flowers are blooming, too! Steady progress for Ruby-throats Continues Despite Some Snow Snow in areas of the southeast may be slowing migration a bit, but it's still progressing steadily. So far no one has noticed any hummingbirds way ahead of the pack.
