Rufous Hummingbirds Still Migrating
Mike Patterson writes that "Reports continue to come in from eastern Washington and Idaho.
Numbers are still apparently scarce east of the Cascades in Oregon."

If YOU see a Rufous Hummingbird in the West, make sure you report it to Mike Patterson. And if you see hummers, make sure you let him know if any flowers are blooming, too! We are very grateful to Mike Patterson for sharing his data and his expertise with us again this year.

After our last Update, Mike Patterson wrote to us to tell us that in 20 years of careful observations of Rufous Hummingbirds, he had never witnessed an oval display pattern as we described it.
