Summer/Fall 2001 Recap |
Santina spent most of her summer feeding on the seagrass beds in
the Rabbit Key Pass area of Everglades National Park. She made several
trips (for fresh water) way up the Barron River to canals that reach
all the way to Highway 41. Santina always seems to be on the move
and she continued this pattern through December. During the first
week in January when a strong cold front moved in, Santina traveled
to Port of the Islands. By mid-January she had moved back to the Rabbit
Key Pass/Barron River area. |
Summer/Fall 2002 Recap |
Since last May Santina has continued to use the areas around Chokoloskee
Bay. She has spent most of her time feeding on the grass beds around
Demijohn Key northwest to Indian Key Pass, with occasional trips further
south to Pavilion Key and the Chatham and Huston Rivers. She continues
to travel back and forth between the outer islands, Chokoloskee Bay
and the Barron River. She also makes trips back to POI. During the
recent cold fronts Santina has been at POI |
