Garden Update: May 5, 2006
This Week's Map and Data
An important garden event happened this past week. We have a garden reported emerged NORTH of 60 degrees! If every degree change in latitude is about 60 miles, how far north of your garden is this one? Calculate how many days between yours emerging and theirs. After the long, cold winter the Northern gardens are coming to life. Last Chance to predict! Who will be the last to bloom? Stay tuned! Since April 27, 3 more tulip gardens were reported EMERGED, and 11 tulip garden reported BLOOMING. Study our map or use the data to make your own map.

Find 61.2N Latitude, -149.86W Longitude on this map. How does their location compare with your school? (What is YOUR latitude and longitude address?) On 04/28/06 Ptarmigan Elementary reported their tulips were finally seen coming out of the ground. Spring has sprung! Here is what they reported:
Compare the date your tulips emerged with these tulips. When do you think they will bloom? Year-End Evaluation: Please Share Your Thoughts! Please take a few minutes to share your suggestions and comments in our Year-End Evaluation. The information you provide is critical for planning new initiatives and for improving Journey North. Also, as a free program supported by a generous grant from Annenberg Media, we want to be able to document Journey North's reach, impact and value. THANK YOU!
