Satellite
View of The Gulf Stream
Ocean currents affect air temperature. This special map shows a satellite
view of the warm Gulf Stream(orange and yellow) coming around the tip
of Florida and continuing north along the continental coastline. The Gulf
Stream is a powerful current that originates in the warm waters of the
Gulf of Mexico. It influences the climate of the east coast of North America
from Florida to Newfoundland, and the west coast of Europe.
The
blue color is cold arctic water coming down from the north.
How
do you think these ocean currents will affect spring's arrival in the
tulip test garden?
