Challenge Question #5

Dear Journey North,

We enjoyed the pictures of the Los Remedios community. The people use
wood for many things. This is what we found.

* fences
* fuel for cooking and heating
* building houses, porches, and other buildings
* furniture (chairs, beds, tables)
* telephone or electrical poles
* maybe a wagon behind the horse that is hauling wood
* logs to saw and sell
* lumber
* sawdust and mulch for planting (maybe)

The students liked different pictures.

* Doug and Casey liked the pictures of the homes because they liked the
looks of them.
* Eric, Mike, Matt, Michael, and Taj liked the fire picture because they
like burning fires.
* Corey liked the same picture of the cooking tortilla because it looked
good and Tyler liked it because the stove looked neat.
* Heather, Kayla, Joshua, Michelle, Mason, Sarah, Hope, Danielle, and
Jamie liked all the horse pictures because they all like horses.
* Evan liked the barn picture because he likes barns.
* Brad liked all the farm pictures because he likes farms.
* John liked the big open space of land picture because it looks like
our state of West Virginia.

Sincerely,

Mr. Phillips's Third Grade Class from Kanawha School in Davisville, West
Virginia
