We used a unifix cube and an atlas to find how many miles the humpback
whales will swim up the coast. We figured they will swim approx. 2,090
miles (5 1/2 inches x 380 miles). We used a centimeter ruler to figure the
kilometers and found that they will swim approx. 3,840 kilometers (16
    centimeters x 240 kilometers). That's a long way!

Atlas scale: One centimeter represents 240 kilometers
One inch represents approximately 380 miles
