I found it interesting that for shelter or survival during the winter they migrate. The amazing thing is that they migrate all the way down to Mexico and that is a far journey. It is extremely important or else they would freeze to death in the winters in the states. They are such fragile creatures that the could would kill off the species. I would like to know how many of the butterflies don't make it down to Mexico on the trip? It would also be interesting to see how many don't make the trip back from Mexico? How many miles are the trip their and back? The last question is how long do they stay down their and how do they know when to go back?
