Ruby-throated Distribution

This map shows the distribution of the ruby-throated hummingbird. Compare the landmass of the ruby-throat’s wintering grounds and breeding grounds. Notice how relatively little land is available to the hummers in the winter. This is one reason why conservation of winter habitat is so important.
