Dear Friends,
Hello! Our second grade class was so excited when we received the eleven Symbolic Butterflies that were cared for this winter by a Mexican student named German Medina of Angangueo, Michoacan in Mexico. The butterflies spent the winter in Mexico clustered with butterflies from Canada, FL, IA, IN, Mexico, NC, NE, NJ, TN, and TX and landed at Pinewood Heights Elementary School in Williamson County TN on April 30, 2004.
Some of the butterflies must have had a rough trip because the information was no longer on the butterflies. Many schools were represented and here are where the ones we could read are from:
Kingston Christian School, Kingston, Ontario, Canada
Highway A1A, Indialantic, FL
Fairmeadows, West Des Moines, IA
Selma Elementary School, Selma, IN
Esc. Sec. Tec n 81, Saltillo, Coah, Mexico
2 from Brevard Elementary School, Greenville, NC
Spring Ridge Elementary, Elkhorn, NE
Lakeview School, Denville, NJ
Union Elementary, Gallatin, TN
East Highland, Comanche, TX
If you know anything about the fourteen butterflies we designed, please e-mail us information about them.
Teach by example,
Trish Kittrell
Pinewood Heights Elementary School, TN
