    Challenge Question #13:
"Rice and Wolman (1971) calculated that gray whales burn 19 kilocalories per kilogram of body weight per day. What?Äôs the conversion for tons to kilograms? How many kilocalories does a 40-ton whale burn per day?"

A 40-tons whale burn 760,000 kilocalories per day. Here is how i did it!!!Since the conversion for tons to kilograms is 1,000 kilograms, so i took 40 tons multiplied by 1,000 kilograms, and the result for it is 40,000 kilograms. Then i used 40,000 kilograms multiplied by 19 kilocalories, because gray whales burn 19 kilocalories per kilogram of body weight per day, and the result is a 40-tons whale burn 760,000 kilocalories per day.
