Mrs. Swentzel's third grade class from Stanhope(Byram) NJ, spent some time
going over the comparisons. for the field mouse to a monarch caterpillar
and a hummingbird to a monarch butterfly. The class felt that the mouse
was like a caterpillar because they both crawled along the ground and up
trees. They even eat some types of leaves. Next, the hummingbird is like
the monarch butterfly, in that they are light of wing and they seem to
float or flutter in place. They also migrate in the winter and they both
have graceful wings.
