If the fish is in the bill of the eagle, it might slip out but if it is in the talons it gets squeezed and does not fall out. Besides, if the heavy fish is in the beak, it might tilt the head but in the talons the eagle gets its center of gravity and remains balanced. The number of talons that are holding the prey is more than the number of one bill. So it has more holding points with talons. The talons are sharp, curved and strong.
