Monarch butterflies are found in sandy areas wherever milkweed grows.
They eat milkweed foliage, and milky juice from flowers. They drink
water and nectar from flowers. Monarch butterflies fly between
California and Mexico where they spend their winters in a state of
semi-hibernation. Here they cluster on trees in huge numbers.
