Nest News in Wisconsin Crane pair #213 and #218 made a nest and laid two eggs. Four days later they deserted their nest and didn't come back. Experts saved one egg and took it to ICF for incubation. They hope it will hatch a chick. Below is the nest of pair #209 and #416. Why isn't a parent sitting on the eggs? They abandoned the nest. One egg was saved and taken to ICF for incubation. Will a chick be hatched from it? We'll see!
First Family parents #211 and #217 had been incubating two eggs since April 3. On April 20 the parents left the nest for short times on several occasions; Mom came back at dusk and incubated during the night. The next morning they stopped sitting on the eggs. Experts worried, and decided to collect the eggs and continue their care so the'd hatch into new chicks. Just minutes before the eggs were to be collected, their remains were discovered. A predator destroyed the eggs.
