- Tulip Garden Update: December
10, 1999
The darkest days of the year are upon us, and the coldest days of
winter are still ahead. But 243 gardens are now safely tucked into the ground, and
students across the north are already waiting for spring. What do you
suppose will happen underground, when air temperatures drop lower and lower?
- Tulip Garden Update: November
12, 1999
128 new tulip gardens have been planted since the last update! Can
you see any geographic pattern as you map these gardens? Also, a reminder to warmer
region gardens--don't forget to report your future gardens now.
- Tulip Garden Update: October
15, 1999
The first thirty-three Journey North gardens have now been planted!
Make a map with today's data, then consider if planting date might affect the tulip's
growth next spring. What would happen if you planted your tulips upside down, anyway?
(And other ideas for experiments.)
- Tulip Garden Update: September
17, 1999
Your tulip bulbs have arrived and you're about to bury them underground.
But before you take your last look, maybe there are some important things you should
know about them....And after you plant your garden this fall, don't forget to report
to Journey North so your site will appear on next month's map!
