Adult males represented 16 of all hummers reported this week. Almost all were found in Gulf states of Texas, Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Louisiana. How long will hummingbirds stay in their breeding areas? Collecting departure dates from year to year will help us compare. There are still many questions about hummingbird migration: How do departure dates compare from year to year? What factors significantly influence when hummers leave their breeding areas?
