Sightings and numbers are dwindling: only 41 reports this week. Leading in number of hummers reported were Texas (25), California (17) and Florida (15). What a change from peak migration of September 4 - 18, when over 2,2000 reports came in! This juvenile male Ruby-throated Hummingbird was seen fluffed and huddled in the fall foliage of Quebec, Canada while, much further south, a Texas observer recalls:
"Our sightings have dwindled to six hummingbirds at the two feeders we still have hanging. At the peak, we had 10 feeders and 100+ hummers." Kay T. in Victoria, Texas 10/24/14
