Moving Inland
Hummingbirds are starting to move inland from the coastal areas in Juneau, Alaska. The climate is cooler away from the ocean, so hummingbird habitat is not suitable until later. The first rufous sightings came in from the greater Juneau area over 2 weeks ago.

"We live near the Mendenhall Glacier. The climate is colder. We're in zone 5 near the glacier. Just a few miles west, in coastal areas, they probably had sightings earlier."
