Western Species
An observer from Idaho who sees lots of spring migrants reported their first Black-chinned hummingbird this week.

"Black-chinned male at our feeder this morning, 2 weeks later than 2013. We're wondering if spring storms delayed their arrival this year. Just happy to have them back! We consider ourselves cafe-on-the-way to the mountains for many species. We have only half a dozen pairs stay all summer, but dozens during migrations." Rigby  05/17/14
