Calliope
The Calliope is the smallest breeding bird found in the United States and Canada. An adult measures 2.8-3.9 inches (7-10 cm) in length, and weighs 2-3 grams (0.071-0.106 oz). This birds' nests, found at higher altitudes of the Rocky Mountains are built in pine trees and resemble pine cones.

"I went out to take pictures of the yellow headed blackbirds in our pasture. They took flight and I was left looking for another subject to photograph. There in the raspberry bushes landed a hummingbird. Back and forth he flew and I photographed him for close to an hour."
